Makara Samphal, Programming Director of Family FM, explains the station's programming philosophy.

“We want to be a unique station, different from others," he says. "In our programming, we try to select topics that will help society. But we don’t want our listeners just to gain knowledge. Our main goal is, we want their lives to be changed and that they will know God.”

Makara likes radio’s potential for building relationships. “Radio can become a close friend of the listener, especially if we do the program hosting well.” He asks for prayer for wisdom each day. “This role is a challenge for me, with 16.5 hours of broadcasting in my hands.”

Makara is an elder of Phnom Penh’s New Life Fellowship.. He is married to Chek and they have one son, Benjamin.
